EOPS

What's required of me?

In return for the benefits provided by EOPS, you are expected to meet certain program requirements designed to help you succeed and to measure your success while in the program.

EOPS Student Responsibilities

DSPS and NextUp Students are eligible for unit and completion exemptions. 

  • Complete at least 9 units each semester with a minimum 2.0 semester GPA.
  • Follow your Student Educational Plan (SEP) when scheduling classes and maintain academic progress toward the educational goal (certificate, associate degree, or transfer) defined in your SEP.
  • Meet with your assigned EOPS counselor at least three (3) times each semester, and advise the EOPS Office in a timely manner if you cannot keep your scheduled appointment.
  • Complete the mid-term progress report. (NOTE: students on EOPS probation may be required to submit additional progress reports during the term.)
  • Complete the EOPS End-of-Term Survey. 

Care Student Additional Responsibilities

CARE students are EOPS students first; however, they must meet the following additional program requirements in exchange for their CARE benefits.

  • Attend one additional EOPS counseling appointment each semester for a total of four (4) appointments.
  • Turn in a new CARE Application and Authorization Sheet at the beginning of each semester.
  • Notify your EOPS counselor or the EOPS Office of any changes to your status that might affect your CARE eligibility.
